Remember on Friday when I was basically having an anxiety attack about traveling out to Johnstown to visit my good friend from college? Not because I didn't want to see her, but because I just really needed a break. Welp, after accidentally opening the door on my puppy's foot (he's ok, don't worry!), hitting a parked car, and sitting in my car and crying from exhaustion...I decided that I needed to stay home this weekend. And let me tell you...it was a very good choice because I had such a nice and relaxing Saturday!! I woke up super early with my cousin, dad, mom, and her friend to do the
Livestrong 5k.
We speed walked the race, and though I would have preferred to run, I really enjoyed myself! The race was filled with amazing people, all of whom were there to run/walk in honor or in memory of loved ones who are suffering or have suffered from cancer.
We walked in honor of my cousin, Meaghan, who was diagnosed with Lymphoma at the beginning of the summer and started chemo last month. I love her so much, and she's been so strong and amazing through everything so far!
At the end of the race, everyone got a free beer!! Perks of being 21 :) Michelob Ultra is really good! New favorite light beer.
After the race, my cousin and I watched Burlesque (LOVED the singing and dancing!!) and decided to make muffins! I had just read Jenna's recipe at Eat, Live, Run for
Whole Wheat Banana Peach Muffins and could not get them out of my head, soooo Alana and I decided to make them!
Jump on over to her blog to see the full recipe, but here are the steps that I took to make these scrumptious little muffs :)
